Roethle Named Playoff MVP

The Hartford Hawks were crowned the 2019 Rock River Grand Champions on Saturday afternoon in Hartford after blanking the Clyman Canners by a 7-0 score in the decisive third game of the Grand Championship Series (GCS).  Taylor Anderson's two out, two RBI single  in the 5th inning broke a scoreless tie and Brody Marks made that lead hold up on the mound as he tossed the complete game shutout (4 Hits, 3 K's).  Nate Roethle took home Playoff MVP honors after a red hot postseason where he batted .567 (17x30 - 2 2B's, 10 RBI's, 8 Runs, 3 SB's).

After dropping game one of the GCS at home, Hartford forced a game three after erasing an early 4-0  deficit and breaking a 7-7 tie in the 9th inning with a Griff Lukes two run homer to win game two 9-7 at Clyman.  The 2019 Rock River Championship is Hartford's second overall and first since 2013.  The Hawks finish the season 27-8 overall (18-4 RRL), while Clyman finishes 22-9 overall (15-5 RRL).
